Photos that get the booking
Real estate photography exists to get a property booked, not merely to show it. I photograph Airbnb stays, cabins, villas and holiday homes as well as hotels and holiday villages in Rovaniemi and across Lapland. My clients are the owners and operators who need images for listings, booking systems and marketing. I host an Airbnb myself, so I look at a room as both the photographer and the guest.
Airbnb photography and short-term rentals
A guest scrolls past dozens of properties and decides in seconds. The first photo decides whether the scroll stops; the rest decide whether the booking happens. Good Airbnb photography does two things at once. It shows the property honestly, and it shows it at its best.
I shoot short-term rentals so the layout reads as a whole. Which room leads where, how big the kitchen is, what you can see from the window. Detail shots carry what a wide shot cannot. The quality of the bedding, the coffee maker, the sauna, the furniture on the terrace. Exterior shots are always included, because in Lapland the surroundings are often the reason the property gets chosen at all.
You get the images in high resolution, plus versions sized to work as they are on Airbnb, on Booking.com and on your own website.
Property photography for hotels, villas and resorts
Once there are several units, this is a different job from photographing a single apartment. In a hotel, a holiday village or a villa property you cover the room types, the shared spaces, the restaurant and the sauna and wellness areas, plus the buildings from outside, and all of it has to stay visually consistent from one channel to the next.
Property photography here also covers facades, the grounds and the building read in its setting. An aerial frame is often the most efficient way to show how close the slope, the lake or the town centre really is.
For larger properties what the shoot covers and the schedule are agreed in advance, so one shoot yields enough material for the website, the booking system, print and social media.
What the shoot includes
Planning and preparation
Before the shoot we go through the property type, the number of rooms and what the images need to say. The time of day is set by the light, because a Lapland winter gives you very few usable daylight hours, and they should be spent on the right rooms.
Editing and delivery
Every image is worked on individually. I do not run a batch preset over a shoot or settle for fast bulk processing, because it shows in the result as leaning verticals, blue shadows and windows you cannot see out of.
I shoot with natural light as much as possible, so the room keeps its own atmosphere. The work covers exposure, colour temperature, contrast and perspective correction, plus merging the flash with the room’s own light. Flash is used only where it is needed, for example to correct the colour casts that appear when warm indoor light and cold window light land in the same frame.
It takes longer than a one-click preset. You can tell, because the room looks the way it looks when you are standing in it.

The price follows the size of the property, and every package includes exterior shots and full editing.
1–2 h – studio or one-bedroom stay
20 photos – €199 + VAT 25.5% (€249.75 incl. VAT)
3 h – two-bedroom stay
25 photos – €229 + VAT 25.5% (€287.40 incl. VAT)
4 h – villa, cabin or detached house
30 photos – €279 + VAT 25.5% (€350.15 incl. VAT)

– The packages already include a good number of photos suitable for an Airbnb listing. However, if you have more details or features you want to highlight, additional photos are justified. Also, if your property is larger than what the package with the most photos covers, it’s a good idea to add extra photos as needed. This way, the spaces and rooms are better visualised.
Where I shoot in Rovaniemi and Lapland
Rovaniemi is my home city and my main area. I shoot regularly elsewhere in Lapland too, in Levi and Kittilä, Ylläs, Saariselkä and Inari, Pyhä and Luosto. Trips towards Kemi and Tornio are made by arrangement.
Longer trips elsewhere in Finland can be agreed separately. Include the location of the property in your enquiry and you will get an estimate of the travel costs with the quote.
My own Airbnb, seen through a camera
I host an Airbnb myself, and it changed how I shoot. As a host you see which photos guests actually stop on, and what they ask about before booking. Usually exactly the things the listing never photographed. How many beds there are and where, how the kitchen is equipped, how you get in during winter.
So I always photograph the spaces nobody considers photogenic. A guest does not book on the strength of the living room; they book because the whole property looks understandable and honest. That is the same thing that prevents disappointed reviews afterwards.

Frequently asked questions
What does real estate photography cost?
My rates run from €119 to €279 + VAT 25.5 %, depending on the size of the property and the number of photos. The mini package with eight photos is €119, and the largest package with 30 photos is €279. Every package includes exterior shots and full editing. How long does a shoot take?
Between one and two hours for a small property, around three hours for a two-bedroom stay and around four hours for a villa or cabin. Delivery time is agreed when you book, and finished images are always prioritised. Tell me in your enquiry if the listing has to be live by a particular date.
How many photos do I get?
Eight in the mini package, and 20, 25 or 30 in the main packages depending on the size of the property. Additional photos are available separately and the rates are in the pricing list. For a larger property the extra photos are usually worth it, so that every space is accounted for.
How do I prepare the property for the shoot?
Set the rooms up the way they would look as a guest arrives. Beds made, surfaces cleared, bins and laundry baskets out of sight. Replace dead bulbs and make sure the lamps share a colour temperature. Remove personal items, loose cables and fridge magnets.
Do the photos meet Airbnb and Booking.com requirements?
Yes. You get both the high-resolution images and versions already sized for an Airbnb listing and the other booking channels. The listing files work as they are with no re-cropping, and the high-resolution originals stay with you for your website, brochures and print.
Do you shoot outside Rovaniemi?
I work across Lapland, including Levi and Kittilä, Ylläs, Saariselkä and Inari, Pyhä and Luosto, and by arrangement towards Kemi and Tornio. Rovaniemi is my home city and main area. Longer trips elsewhere in Finland are agreed separately.
What camera and lens do you shoot interiors with?
A full-frame mirrorless camera on a tripod. My main lens works differently from plain documentation of a space, where the goal is only to fit the whole room into one frame. I crop a little tighter so the property gains some atmosphere, while the rooms still read clearly. I blend flash with the room's own light, and flash is used only when it is needed to correct colour. Do you also do 3D tours or drone photography?
Both. A Matterport 3D virtual tour lets a guest walk through the property in a browser before booking, and it suits hotels, villas and commercial spaces in particular. Drone photography is available as an add-on alongside another shoot, and there is a separate drone mapping service for construction sites and housing companies.
